North Chevy Chase (328) @ RESC (462), 6/15/13
The Sailfish kick off the 2013 season in Division H with a big win over the North Chevy Chase Sharx!
RESC was led by its outstanding group of 9-10 swimmers, who together broke six team records and three RESC pool records!
Malia Bush broke the RESC team records in 9-10 Girls 50 Free, 25 Breast and 25 Fly. Malia’s swim in 50 Free also broke the pool record set in 2007 by Katie Ledecky, who won a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in 800-meter Free. Haley Phillips broke the team and pool records in 9-10 Girls 25 Back. And Noah Rutberg broke two of the oldest team records on the RESC record board: Andy Lockman‘s marks in 9-10 Boys 50 Free and 25 Back, which had stood since 1972! Noah’s swim in 25 Back also broke the RESC pool record, and was within 4/10ths of a second of the Montgomery County Swim League record.
And special congratulations to Noah Rutberg, Sean Farley, Zack Einhorn and Matt Roche for crushing the team record in the Boys 14 & Under 175 Graduated Freestyle Relay by nearly 4 seconds!
Incredible job, Sailfish!!
Congratulations also to Connor Dickinson of North Chevy Chase for breaking the RESC pool record in 11-12 Boys 50 Free!

Kudos also to Hannah Lindsey, who broke the 10-year-old RESC team record in 15-18 Girls 100 Back, and also took down the team record in 15-18 Girls 100 IM.
And congrats once again to the mighty 14 & Under Boys 175 Free Relay team (Noah Rutberg, Sean Farley, Zack Einhorn and Matt Roche), which lowered the RESC team record it set in Week 1.

Division H Relay Carnival, 7/7/13
The Sailfish take control of first place in Division H by winning the Relay Carnival at Palisades! RESC swimmers won three of the first four events en route to winning eight of the 22 events in the meet!
There were many great performances by Regency swimmers. Special congratulations to the Boys and Girls 14 & Under 175 Graduated Freestyle Relay teams, which kicked off the meet by winning their events and breaking the RESC team records for them. The boys team (Noah Rutberg, Sean Farley, Zack Einhorn and Matt Roche) and the girls team (Malia Bush, Beth Wright, Katie Wright and Angelica Hu) could represent RESC at the MCSL All-Star Relays meet on July 28 if their times remain the fastest in the division after the Division H Championships meet.
Our other event winners at Relay Carnival are automatically qualified for the All-Star Relays meet:
**13-14 Mixed 200 Free Relay (Zack Einhorn, Megan Roche, Neema Moayed, Katie Wright)
**9-10 Mixed 200 Free Relay (Noah Rutberg, Matthew Pelletier, Haley Phillips, Malia Bush)
**14 & Under Boys 100 Medley Relay (Noah Rutberg, Sean Farley, Zack Einhorn, Matt Roche)
**8 & Under Boys 100 Medley Relay (Matthew Kim, Matt Roche, Michael Kaiser, Thomas Pelletier)
**9-10 Girls 100 Medley Relay (Haley Phillips, Malia Bush, Alison Kaiser, Jessica Hu)
**13-14 Boys 200 Medley Relay (Neema Moayed, Nino Tranquill, Zack Einhorn, Matthew Stewart)
Something else to watch: RESC currently has the division’s best time in the Open Girls 200 Medley Relay. If that time: (2:16.73) is not beaten by another team through the Division H Championship meet, Regency will represent the division at the All-Star Relays.

For the Sailfish, Caroline Wallerstedt took down one of the oldest records at RESC: the team record in 11-12 Girls 50 Breast, which had been held by C.J. Lockman since 1978. Way to go Caroline!
Other record-breakers for Regency included Hannah Lindsey, who broke her own team and pool records in 15-18 Girls Back, and lowered her team record in 15-18 Girls 100 IM. Noah Rutberg lowered his team record in 9-10 Boys 50 Free, while Malia Bush lowered her team record in 9-10 Girls 25 Fly.

**And kudos again to Caroline McTaggart of Chevy Chase Rec, who broke her own pool record at RESC in 15-18 Girls 100 Free.

MCSL Individual All-Stars @ Rockville, 7/28/13
What a great day for the Sailfish at the MCSL Individual All-Stars meet!
Congratulations to Noah Rutberg and Malia Bush for winning MCSL championships in 9-10 Boys 50 Free and 9-10 Girls 50 Free, respectively. Noah and Malia both broke their own team records in winning the All-Stars meet. Noah was also 2nd in 25 Back, while Malia was 4th in 25 Breast. Congratulations also to Hannah Lindsey, who for the second time this season broke an MCSL record while finishing 2nd in a race. Hannah crushed her own team record in 15-18 Girls 100 Back by nearly 2 seconds in finishing just behind Mill Creek Towne’s Catherine Mulquin. And Alison Kaiser dropped nearly a second in 9-10 Girls 25 Breast to finish 2nd and snatch the RESC team record from Malia.
Our other Regency All-Stars with best times included Haley Phillips (9th in 9-10 Girls 50 Free) and Katie Wright (3rd in 13-14 Girls 50 Free and 11th in 13-14 Girls 50 Fly). Haley was also 9th in 25 Back. Caroline Wallerstedt and Beth Wright also had very nice swims.
Great job, Sailfish!
